How we source listings, and corrections
Every fact on BuscaIsla comes from a public source that is linked on the listing.
Sources
- OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL): names, addresses, phones, hours and coordinates added by volunteers. Used for most non-medical categories.
- NPPES NPI Registry (US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services): licensed providers and organizations. Addresses can be a billing or mailing address rather than where patients are seen.
- HRSA health center data: federally funded (Section 330) community health center sites, hours per week and coordinates.
- CMS Hospital General Information: hospitals, type, ownership and whether they report emergency services.
- US Census geocoder: map coordinates when the source has none.
- The business's own website or news reports: for a few featured listings; linked on the page.
What “Data updated” means
“Data updated from [source] on [date]” is the date we last refreshed that record from its sources. It does not mean someone called the business or visited it. Businesses close, move and change phone numbers, so please call before you go.
What “Verified by owner” means
This badge only appears after the business has claimed its page and we have confirmed ownership, The owner confirms through the claim form, and we follow up by email or phone before marking the listing “Verified by owner”.
What we leave out
If a field isn't in a source, we leave it out. We don't estimate hours, prices, insurance or quality. Listings with no phone number and no other useful detail stay on the site for completeness but are kept out of search engines until they have better information.
Corrections and removals
Spot something wrong, or is a business closed? Email [email protected] with the page link and what needs to change, or claim the page if it's your business. We aim to review corrections within 7 days. Businesses can ask us to remove their listing.
Editorial independence
The order of listings is alphabetical or by distance. Payment never affects it.
